Frank Cullen Postcard of Old IRA parade for firing practice on the Upper Springfield road pre 1916 and notes by Joe Nolan

Joe Nolan son of Willie John Nolan was the first person to archive "the troubles" in 1966 with the National Museum in Dublin. He donated many hundreds of records, photos and other material. As you can see from the handwritten notes below he documented every detail on each article. Joe should have been recognised for his extensive contribution in documenting the political and social history of the North of Ireland. This is only one small part of the Joe Nolan archive story.
